Although incontinence can happen at any age, it is more common in older adults. Incontinence may affect many aspects of our lives, including social, physical, and psychological health. Several conditions and diseases can bring about incontinence, such as multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer’s.
Bethesda’s continence care program aims to help overcome and manage incontinence and loss of bladder and bowl control. Our professionally trained staff will evaluate and accommodate your special needs.
We work with each of our residents regarding their bladder and bowel conditions with the goal of restoring as much function as possible. Our nurses will help identify underlying problems for incontinence conditions, work to tailor behavioral approaches, and establish a plan for incontinence management that will enable each resident to maintain or improve bladder and bowel functions.
